I’ve tattooed almost every profession from labourers to lawyers, heroes and villains.
Ru Callender is the first undertaker I have tattooed. We had a very interesting day, I mentioned to Ru that when my time comes I wanted to have an ‘open pyre cremation‘, something that has been illegal since 1902. Ru has a ‘Natural’ approach to death and this was a subject close to his heart. He mentioned that the last open air pyre cremation was in 1934, when the British government gave special permission to Nepal’s ambassador to cremate his wife outdoors in Surrey.
In February 2010, Mr Davender Ghai won his battle at the Court of Appeal, which ruled that he had a right to be cremated in accordance with his beliefs.
Matt worked at ‘Good Karma’ on the desk on Saturdays making the tea, doing all those menial tasks whilst holding down a ‘normal’ 9-5 weekday job. He watched and learned how to tattoo the hard way. A solid and reliable man. I did this for him back in the summer. Find him here.
I began tattooing Hanif 18 years ago . The Islamic star you see on the right side of his chest is a cover up, the band on his left arm is from the same time. We are continuing a with the same theme….after all this time.
